Business growth is to protect our current customer and adding the new customer and new business opportunity and/or product and/or service to the current one to make better future aggressively.
Nowadays, any industry seems already saturated. Anywhere, any market is competitive. Without respective employees being the sales professional, manufacturing professional and administrative professional, unable to protect current customer from competitors. Developing new product is even more difficult.
Appearel manufacturing market is small not like the business its target is in wide range of market. However, once the customer gives us order, they will continue to be for many more years. It is blessed. We can build the trusted relationship with customer by our effort. Thus, finding potential long term customer is the most important. However, exploiting potential customer is not easy. They do not give us the chance easily. Enduring to get the chance is important. If you visit them once or twice and if they say “NO”, it’s nothing. Gaining the valued customer with 100 years future relationship by once or twice visiting is just a luck. If the visit continued for 3 years and customer still say “NO” after the various ways of approaching, it’s the finally time to give up. For this significant business developing, we should give all the sales effort and the manufacturing way should be up to the customer. And, new customer finding in the beginning stage should be small business opportunity. Most important thing is to open their door and get in.
Then, we should fix the work flow, purchase machine, expedite, and deliver high quality. All employees happiness and future success of business is depending on developing customer. We all should know well about “Protecting our current customer”. In other words, it is to “Differentiate with competitors and having something special what others can not achieve”.
This is to protect our customer from competitors and differentiate with others and it even become the driving power to take the potential customer from competitors.
Our sales point is as follows, “customer favorable sales style”, “ full service to the customers”, “ even higher technology level and quality” and “never deliver late”. We have to bring our level where customer admits those and they naturally feel “Oh! We should give them the opportunity because they can do!”. It is the deference from competitors. Quality, price, and delivery, we are on the same field, in other words, parameters are same and we are fighting with each others. Thus, it is important to have our specialty with focusing onto the customer. Wrong length, wrong code number of the lace, wrong line, wrong material should never ever be happened. It is losing the customer, and our effort will be gone just like a bubble.
Especially, regarding the additionals, stitch work and material issues, even if the customer specified these design, we should not think “it was their order so it was thier fault.” Because those issues determine the image of the complete product. If the complete work is far from their image, long term trust is unable to be built. Long term relationship is important and business is not the one time. Thus, mistake of customer is our mistake. Mistake caused by the thing we are able to do technically happens because of our carelessness.
We should still do even which seems unable to do. We should do these thing with the strong belief “we can do”. In the meanwhile, these will be our specialty and the source of the sales and profit.
Human beings, we can do anything the way we believed deeply, thus things become as the way we think. “If we think we cannot, we cannot. If we think we can, we can do anything.”
New prosperity or even the difficulties, these are all in our own. It is my belief.
As a leader, under this current challenging situation, I will always proceed our business passionately with devoting entirely, making strategic plan, being creative, stating “customer first” ism and facing any difficulties to make employees and all of their families to be able to continue bright and rich life.
